2. Provenance Entries: Sum Iacobus Apfell (inside of the first cover), Jacobus Apfell Studiousus Vormditensis (fol.1), Mon[aste]rij Oliven[sis] o[r]d[ini]`s Cist[erciensis] in Prussia (fol.3).
Seals: a round seal with coat-of-arms and record: Preussisches Staatsarchiv in Königsberg (on the cover and fol.1), the round seal of the Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences and signature 284. MLF – LXXX (top right corner of fol.1), the round seal of the Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences and signature 284 (bottom of fol.171v).
Remains of the old wafer with the former old signature [Msc A(J?) 11]5 on the binding back.
3. History According to the Provenance entries this notation collection was written (and maybe compiled) by Jacobus Apfell, a Cistercian monk of the Oliva monastery, a student at the Jesuit theological academy in Braunsberg. After the dissolution of the Cistercian monastery in Oliva in 1831, the manuscript was moved to the Prussian State archives in Königsberg. After World War II this organ tablature was brought to the Manuscript Department of the Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences together with other manuscripts rescued from Königsberg ruins
