The meanings of colors of fabrics used for funerals are the most particuliar. The category of yellow is very distinctive in contemporary ethnic culture.

In church the color shows periods and holidays. People in Lithuania interpreted the symbolics of textile colors suitable for liturgical periods. Besides, color definitions were related to social factors and social circumstances. It was said that 'a poor man has dark colors (biedno žmogaus tamsios spalvos),* the colors of the flag of the Republic of Lithuania are Lithuanian.

We can notice that meanings of color symbolics are an original understanding of Christian truths in agrarian society. White fabrics were the most meaningful.
