Reminiscences of contemporaries, their impressions and experience illustrate vividly the history of the craft, and show the features of traditions. Weavers talk about peculiarities of their greative work. Interesting details, digressing from the subject, reveal the actualities of the time.

In the collection of the sound library of the Institute of the Lithuanian Language we found recordings from the second half of the 20th century of people from various places in Lithuania talking about weaving. These narratives reveal uniquely the culture of the locality and the history of the craft, the weavers were born at the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. Other recordings are of the experiences of contemporary weavers. Rare long and short narratives about weavers, their knowledge, the subtleties of the weaving process and technique, and about fabric patterns show cultural features of agrarian society in various places in Lithuania.
